The Perfect Summer Dress

Dress, Bag & Shoes: All Primark!

So, I found THE perfect summer dress in my beloved Primark and accessories to match last week. Spending a little and getting a lot is the ultimate achievement. My bargain hunting tendencies have been out in force the last few weeks!

This sweet, off-the-shoulder, floral midi dress combines all my favourite trends. And, as someone who is a little more conscious when it comes to exposing the ol' pins, the midi length is perfect. The ruffles and nipped in waist also make it super flattering - this dress is definitely another gem of a find!

I decided to keep the look simple, pairing the dress with some simple black shoes and a vintage style bag. I did have to chuck the bag to the side for a lot of these photos though as I wanted to swish around a bit more in the dress!

With warmer days making a more regular appearance, this dress will also be making more of an appearance in my day to day wardrobe. It's the perfect summer go-to and definitely in my top ten purchases from Primark of all time I reckon!

Bold Bomber

Bomber Jacket: Primark // T-shirt: Primark // Midi Skirt: Topshop (similar) // Sneakers: Topshop // Rucksack: Primark // Sunglasses: Primark

How nice is this beaut of a bomber jacket?!? I have a bit of a bomber jacket obsession going on at the moment. They're definitely a good go-to for the in-betweeny weather (although, it has been more summer-like of late!). The embroidered detail is just perfect; so gorgeous and it adds a feminine touch to a casual piece. Oh, AND it's only £18 from Primark, so truly is a gem!

Another fabulous Primark find is this 'I have nothing to wear' tee. What I say daily is now on a t-shirt - of course I had to have it! I love the playful slogans at the moment and this tee will come in handy now the sun is well and truly out.

I paired the bomber and tee with my favourite Topshop sale find, this gorgeous midi skirt (which was £20, win!). Like a moth to a flame I was drawn to the bright pink and satin shine. I adore bright colours and have neglected them of late, so it was nice to get a bit of that back with this ensemble.

Unleashing my inner Lily Allen circa 2006, I popped my comfy sneakers on with my dainty skirt. This amazing pair from Topshop have silver stars stitched to the sides (completely forgot to take a close up pic!). The badge/customised trend is so strong right now and these are a perfect way to incorporate that into any look.

Now the sun's really got his hat on, I can't help but think I'll be repeating this t-shirt's slogan even more. Time for a summer wardrobe shopping spree I reckon... ;)

Night School: The Final Project!

It has been so long since I was regularly posting on this blog. It has been a crazy few months and balancing everything has been a challenge. I truly admire the bloggers out there who balance life, career and a blog! It's a true art. My photography evening course has now come to an end *sob* and I've learned so much. Now it's over, I'm looking forward to taking better photos for this blog and continuing to develop.

As part of the course, we were tasked with creating a series of photos, using the techniques we'd learned along the way. It wasn't a major project and if I'd have had more time, I would've really developed this further (oh, how I wish I could go back to full-time school and properly study photography!). I initially had in mind that I wanted to create an editorial style 'day in the life' type shoot with Ben kindly agreeing to be my model, as that's the style of photography I love the most. However, when Ben took off his sunnies and I went in for a close portrait shot, a glimpse of personality shone through. I liked the idea that people are usually so posed for photos, but then you can catch a glimpse of something a bit more 'real' in amongst a series of shots. So, I decided this project would be a kind of mix of both the ideas! I still have so much to learn, but going back to 'school' has been so fab and I definitely will be looking into doing some more part-time courses in the near future!
