2014: An Outfit Roundup

I started blogging in April this year and have had a lot of fun with it since! I've decided to pick my favourite outfits of 2014 and create a little 'round-up'.

Starting up my blog was a big part of my year. It has allowed me to improve my writing and photography skills and has given me the confidence to try out new trends. I've also discovered so many more fantastic blogs. It sounds silly, but I actually couldn't imagine not reading them every week. There are some very talented people out there who provide me with endless outfit envy and inspiration.

Since leaving university, I'd been searching for a creative outlet that would fit around my every day life - this definitely filled that gap. Like most bloggers, of course I'd love to see my blog grow next year. I'll continue to post in 2015, aiming to improve aspects of it as I go. I'm so grateful for everyone who has been reading A Pretty Post-It this year and hope you'll stick around to see what the new year brings.

Visiting the Paul Smith exhibition in London; this was my first proper outfit post and third ever entry on A Pretty Post-It.

So there you have it, my favourite looks rounded up as my last post of 2014.

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all have fun celebrating later!

Grey Day

Hello! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. I feel very relaxed, full of food and appreciative of my gorgeous gifts. Naturally, I wanted to wear some of my pressies straight away which brings me to my 'outfit of the day'.

Jumper: Topshop // Shorts: Glamorous @ Asos (similar) // Boots: Asos // Bag: River Island

I received this grey Topshop jumper and River Island tote as Christmas presents from my lovely Mum. I love them both! She knows me too well and always picks winners - I'm very lucky!

I'm all about minimalism lately, so I paired the jumper with my black leather shorts for a simple and chic look. Of course, my new favourite boots finished the ensemble - they've barely left my feet!

I love this River Island bag as the pastel blue adds a little dash of colour. The smart design means it'll go with loads and it's also the perfect size to fit all my essentials and my bulky camera.

I feel very lucky to have received some beautiful gifts such as these. I hope you all had lovely days, and enjoy the rest of holiday season!

Nothing a Scarf Can't Fix

Coat: Topshop @ eBay // Shirt: Forever 21 // Jeans: Topshop (similar) // Scarf: Winchester Market

I was lacking in inspiration a couple of days ago, and just when I thought all hope was lost I remembered I had purchased this woolly beaut only the day before! I used to be a bit of a scarf collector a few years ago, but don't have very many these days. When strolling through Winchester last weekend, I caught this tartan scarf out the corner of my eye and Ben kindly bought it for me as an early Christmas treat (I wouldn't walk away from the stall...).

I do love how certain accessories just make an outfit. A shirt, jeans and this scarf adds up to a laid back, winter ensemble with a classic twist. If in doubt, reach for the jazzy accessory and you'll be good to go!

Just a short post today, but Happy Christmas Eve all, enjoy the festivities!

A Wintry Winchester

Even though I've had a rotten cold this week, I was still determined to make the last weekend before Christmas as festive as possible. With that in mind, Ben and I headed to Winchester to check out their Christmas Market.

Jacket: Missguided // Top: H&M // Jeans: Topshop // Boots: Asos // Bag: H&M // Necklace: River Island

I know this post is pretty photography heavy so I won't ramble on about the market too much, but there's nothing like a proper Christmas Market to get you excited for the celebrations ahead, even when still battling the remains of a cold! Winchester is a beautiful city, so adding some cute little Christmas stalls makes it even more special! I'm a sucker for pretty trinkets and vintage decorations, I was in my absolute element. I also succumbed to the food stalls of course. I'd never tried a bratwurst hotdog until yesterday, but it was bloomin' delicious!

It was crazy busy there, so I didn't get as many photos as I would have hoped but I still got a few decent ones to give you an idea.

Onto the outfit! I bought this Missguided jacket a couple of weeks ago. I love a jazzy jacket; it adds a bit of somethin' somethin' to a winter ensemble. It is quite thin - more like a blazer than a coat - but I layered up underneath my H&M top to give me that needed warmth. I'm loving this high neck number! It's perfect material for winter as it's lovely and thick, but it's also a piece that smartens up the look.

Of course, after last week, I had to wear my new beautiful Asos boots again. They were so comfy walking around too! I found this pretty, long necklace in amongst my mountain of jewellery to accompany the look. It's very, very old, but I've held onto it. I'm glad I have! I'm normally a chunky, statement necklace girl, but the long chain works well with the polo neck. The purple also just adds a nice hint of colour.

After having such a lovely festive day, I'm now soooo excited for Christmas! Four more sleeps to go!

Touch of Tartan

Coat: Primark // Top: H&M // Jeans: Topshop // Boots: Asos // Bag & Scarf: H&M

Now winter has well and truly kicked in, it was time for me to combine the high neck top (yet another one) with a woolly scarf and thick coat for ultimate warmth!

I love this high neck H&M top. It's thick, cushiony and comfy and the polo neck just adds that chic touch. I teamed it with my woolly tartan scarf for a needed splash of pattern. Tartan is a timeless print and is perfect for the festive season. It's so big it could even be worn as a cape. This one was bought last year, but H&M have a few lovely scarves in at the moment that are very similar. My grey Primark boyfriend coat finished off the look. It's so versatile, I've been wearing it loads lately. It makes any outfit look more refined.

Finally, the boots (THE boots!!!!). They're the absolute boots of dreams and I was lucky enough to snap them up over the Black Friday weekend so I got 20% off. Soooo worth the money. Pointy boots are everywhere and these are the best I've seen. The faux fur detailing and little heel make them feel that bit extra special. They're very comfy too. My old Topshop trusties may have found a rival (about time). I can see myself wearing them a lot in the next couple of months.

It's officially ten days until Christmas. Where has the time gone eh!? Luckily, I'm all up to date with everything wrapped (for once!). Now I can relax in the run up. Phew!
